our story

Hi! We’re Mike and Jessica Kinnick, the owners of Rock Revolution.

We’ve always shared a passion for the outdoors. When we moved to Charlottesville in 2020, we immediately fell in love with the accessibility to outdoor adventures. With two young daughters who are just as adventurous as their parents, you’ll often find us spending our weekends camping, hiking, trying out new mountain biking trails, or making the trek to New River Gorge to teach the girls how to set a top-rope anchor.

The idea of starting a climbing gym has been in the making for years. Our dream of creating a space where people could come together to embrace the thrill of climbing is now becoming a reality, and we couldn’t be more excited! We believe in fostering a sense of community where climbers of all skill levels can challenge themselves, grow, and connect with others who share their love for the sport.

We are dedicated to making the gym a place where newcomers and seasoned climbers feel at home—a space where you can develop your climbing skills and become part of a vibrant, supportive community. Whether tackling your first bouldering problem or working on advanced techniques, our crew is here to cheer you on every step of the way!
